Project Examples
Requirements
Based on a design brief provided by your company and feedback provided at the mid-point of the project period, six teams of four Master's level students in Professional Communication will each create a brand style guide that will include:
- a logo/wordmark with usage guidelines
- colour guidelines
- typeface guidelines
- digital guidelines and examples (eg. social media post, website landing page)
- print and physical guidelines and examples (eg. letterhead, business cards, posters)
Your company will benefit by receiving approximately 6 different brand style guides tailored to your mission, target audience, and values. You may choose to hire students to continue to develop, refine, and apply the brand style guide at the end of the project.
Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- design research and development
- digital design using Adobe CC: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- user testing and evaluation
Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Create and present a design brief for students that outlines your mission/vision statement, information about your target audience, your values, and any existing brand style guidelines and a sense of what you would like to change about them.
Provide feedback at mid-point of project to student groups, and attend a final presentation meeting/critique where you will provide additional feedback.
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
